Agenda 2063 is the African Union's strategic framework for inclusive and sustainable development across the continent. It envisions an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the global arena. The Agenda emphasizes economic transformation, good governance, youth empowerment, regional integration, and innovation as key drivers for achieving the Africa We Want by the year 2063.

The African Union and European Union have agreed on a new $150M green energy partnership to support Agenda 2063’s sustainability and industrialization goals.
The African Union Commission recently conducted a comprehensive mid-term review to evaluate the progress of its key flagship projects under Agenda 2063, the continent’s blueprint for inclusive growth and sustainable development. The review assessed implementation efforts across all five regions, focusing on initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Pan-African High-Speed Rail Network, the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), and the African Commodities Strategy.

Twenty young innovators across Africa were awarded grants through the Agenda 2063 Youth Innovation Challenge to scale transformative local solutions.

Trade volumes under the African Continental Free Trade Area have grown 18% in 2024, demonstrating significant progress towards the economic integration goal of Agenda 2063.
The African Union convened the Global Diaspora Forum, a high-level gathering aimed at mobilizing African communities abroad to actively contribute to the continent’s development agenda. Held under the theme “Harnessing the Power of the Diaspora for Africa’s Transformation,” the forum brought together policymakers, diaspora leaders, entrepreneurs, and youth representatives from across the globe.The event focused on aligning diaspora engagement with the goals of Agenda 2063, particularly Aspiration 5, which emphasizes the development of a strong cultural identity, common heritage, and Pan-African unity.
